Unusual Colonial Australian trunk in white cedar, a timber native to Queensland and northern New South Wales. White cedar is a very heavy dense timber that polishes to a beautiful rich golden hue. The tapered sides and metal strapping are features of this colonial trunk c.1870. A great size as a coffee table or toy box it measures 1000mm wide by 500mm deep and 500mm high.
