H.C.Simpson Watercolour
Herbert Clarke Simpson was born in Casino, New South Wales in 1879 and studied art at the Brisbane Technical College. He became a member of the Queensland Art Society in 1927 and exhibited with them from 1920-34. Simpson mainly painted watercolours in the South East Queensland area. Most famous are his seascapes of the southern Gold Coast, New Farm Park in Brisbane and the Glass House Mountains. He died in 1966. This is an original watercolour, typical of his work titled "Kirra Rocks" 1959. It measures 500mm x 430mm in frame. This painting is in very original condition and would look great remounted. 19th Century American oak dressing table made by Foy & Gibson Collingwood, Melbourne c.1890. It was quite common for Australian cabinet makers to use imported timber to make furniture locally. This piece is beautifully made using golden oak and is an impressive piece with it's carving, 9 drawers, original bevelled mirrors and brass handles.

Remued Pottery Jug
Premier Pottery Preston was established in Melbourne in 1929 and produced a huge variety of pottery. This jug is hand made and features a great purple and green glaze. The applied handle is in the shape of a tree branch. Marked "Remued" this piece was made in the mid 1930's and is 11cm high.
