H.C.Simpson WatercolourHerbert Clarke Simpson was born in Casino, New South Wales in 1879 and studied art at the Brisbane Technical College. He became a member of the Queensland Art Society in 1927 and exhibited with them from 1920-34. Simpson mainly painted watercolours in the South East Queensland area. Most famous are his seascapes of the southern Gold Coast, New Farm Park in Brisbane and the Glass House Mountains. He died in 1966. This is an original watercolour, typical of his work titled "Kirra Rocks" 1959. It measures 500mm x 430mm in frame. This painting is in very original condition and would look great remounted.
